In the green nature, there are many plants growing around us, which seem ordinary but are unique in their qualities. One such well-known yet unknown medicinal herb is the forest okra. This plant can be seen growing neglected in rural bushes, roadsides, or abandoned lands.

The first picture shows a beautiful light pink flower emerging from its stem. These flowers are usually small and attractive in size, belonging to the Malvaceae family. The second picture clearly shows the underside of its leaves and its main feature—the rough, thorny round fruit. Since these fruits easily get stuck on clothes or animals, many people also call it 'Chorkanta' or 'Atkata'. Although it is avoided as just a weed, forest okra has extensive use in folk medicine. Its leaf juice and roots are very effective in curing colds, coughs, rheumatism and skin diseases. In addition, a kind of strong fiber is obtained from its stem, which can be used to make rope. These small plants of nature, in addition to enriching our biodiversity, are silently providing various benefits to the human body.
