Who is this brown sugar girl?


My name is Darkie — yes, like dark chocolate, and yes, just as addictive. I'm Venezuelan through and through, with Caribbean sunshine baked into my skin and seasoning running through my veins. I'd describe myself as curious and outrageously creative, although my mom would say I'm "the one who always has a new project before finishing the last one." (Mom, if you're reading this: I'm working on it.)

How did I end up here?


A friend told me about Steemit with the same energy people use to recommend a series at 11pm on a Sunday: "hey, just try it for a moment." And well, here I am. Spoiler: it wasn't just a moment.


What hooked me was the idea that my words, my photos and my recipes could live somewhere other than my WhatsApp gallery or the eternal draft in my notebook.

What am I going to write about?


Buckle up, because this is a combo:


📸 Photography — I capture what moves me, with my eye and my heart (and sometimes a phone that really needs its lens cleaned).

🍳 Food — Venezuelan recipes, bold fusions and the kind of food that makes you close your eyes on the first bite.

🎨 Art — illustrations, crafts, the organized chaos I call my creative process.

📚 Literature — because sometimes the world needs less noise and more good words.
