The Diary Game [15/06/2026] // The Perfect Breakfast for a Rainy Season

in Steem Cameroon4 days ago

Hi guys, accept greetings from the motherland of Cameroon and welcome back to my blog, where I share my daily lifestyle experiences with you all.

This day was one of those cold, rainy days that make you want to stay wrapped up in a blanket and listen to the soothing sound of raindrops falling on the roof. The rainy season is truly in full swing, and from the moment I woke up this morning, the weather reminded everyone that nature was in charge.

The sky was covered with thick grey clouds, and the rain poured steadily throughout the morning. A chilly breeze drifted through the windows, making the atmosphere even colder. On days like this, it is important to keep warm and take care of one's health. Cold weather often brings flu and coughs, so having something hot and nourishing is always a good idea.

As I stepped into the kitchen, I immediately knew what would be perfect for breakfast. I decided to prepare our local accra beans with pap. The thought of enjoying hot, freshly made accra alongside a steaming bowl of pap instantly lifted my spirits. The aroma filled the house as the bean cakes fried to a beautiful golden-brown colour. Soon, breakfast was ready, and it was everything I had hoped for.

Sitting down with a warm meal while the rain continued to fall outside felt incredibly comforting. The hot pap warmed my body from the inside, while the crispy accra provided the perfect balance of flavour and texture. It was a satisfying breakfast and undoubtedly the perfect way to start such a cold day. More importantly, it helped keep the cold away and gave me the energy I needed for the rest of the day.

Not long after breakfast, I received an important message from work. Due to heavy rainfall, several roads were flooded, making transportation difficult and unsafe. Some areas were completely inaccessible, and many people were unable to move around freely. To ensure everyone's safety, management immediately informed us to remain at home until the rains subsided.

Safety always comes first, and travelling through flooded roads would have been risky. Thankfully, working from home was possible, so I quickly organised my workspace and began my tasks for the day. Despite the gloomy weather outside, I managed to stay productive and focused.

Throughout the day, I occasionally glanced through the window. The rain showed no signs of stopping, and water continued to gather along the streets. Trees swayed gently in the wind, and the usually busy roads remained unusually quiet. It was a reminder of how powerful nature can be and how quickly daily routines can change.

Working from home had its advantages. There was no rushing through the rain, and no worries about getting soaked. Instead, I enjoyed the comfort of being indoors while completing some of my tasks for the day. Every now and then, I prepared a warm drink to keep the cold at bay and maintain a cosy atmosphere.

As evening approached, the rain gradually became lighter, although the weather remained cold. The day had passed peacefully despite the challenging conditions outside. I felt grateful for the warm breakfast that started my morning, the opportunity to work safely from home, and the simple comfort of shelter during the storm.

Now, as I sit here writing this entry, the night is calm and quiet. The cool air still lingers, and the sound of distant raindrops creates a relaxing background melody. Until my next diary, guys, it is good night from my end.
