A risky forecast.
A risky forecast.
To be honest, I really dislike anything that can be called a "forecast," and that applies to everything, because life is very unpredictable. So, it would be more accurate to say that I can make a modest guess: we might not see any apricots on the trees this year either.
This follows from the frosts that have dug up the fruit trees this year, and therefore, if I was planning on canning a few jars of apricot jam, it would be better to consider another option, like waiting for plums, although plums were already on that list. LOL.
I think that if I manage to buy sugar cheaper, I can stock up on it just in case my guess is: A bird speaks two ways!
Fear, as it turns out, has big eyes, but man plans and God disposes, and it may still turn out that the apricot harvest will be in abundance, but for now, it is difficult to believe or even imagine this.
Frosts generally only harm cultivated trees and shrubs, but they don't harm wild plants. They say this is because apricots begin blooming too early, which coincides with these frosts. Methods for delaying apricot blossoms seem questionable to me.
