Lifestyle Diary Game| 15 May 2026 |"Second project harvest of corn begins"
Assalamu Alaikum,
We will be lifting our second project corn today. We have finished lifting and threshing the previous ones. The weather is bad, so we have not taken the risk of threshing the previous ones and have started lifting the second project. It has been raining heavily since last night and that rain has been going on until the morning. However, the rain stopped at 8 am and the sun has come out. The workers have been lifting corn since then, as soon as they arrived on time. Today I did not go to the field. Yesterday I worked hard. I had a backache because I had to lift big bags quickly, so I stayed home until 11 am and rested.
Today, Friday, I took a bath for prayers and after purifying myself, I put on Punjabi and perfume and went out to go to the mosque for prayers. After the prayers in the mosque, we prayed for the person who gave the jilapi. After the prayer, one person gives everyone 3 jilapi. I came out with the jilapi.
When I got home, I saw that today's lunch was just dal and fried rice. I didn't feel like eating dal and fried rice for lunch on Friday, so I boiled two eggs and stuffed the eggs with raw onions and chilies along with mustard oil and finished my lunch with pickles.
Now I have to go to the field. I have to bring the corn that I have harvested today. There is no road for the van to go to this field. While I was passing by, I saw a man drying rice on the road. I went to the field and started bringing corn. My head was hurting. The corn in the sacks was very slippery. The road was small and narrow. As soon as I brought one sack, I was drenched in sweat.
We are all tired from 3 trips. We are sitting under a tree next to a corn field to rest for some time. Here the natural breeze is cooling our bodies. We are relaxing in the shade of the open field trees around us.
My job this time is to fill the corn harvested since morning into sacks, which will be taken by our female workers. We have harvested half of our corn today, and we will harvest the rest tomorrow, but I don't know if we will be able to finish it tomorrow. We finished bringing in today's corn before evening. I took another bath in the evening and had a light breakfast of toast and biscuits with my wife's tea. I am ending today like this, may Allah protect me.
