THE DIARY GAME: 20TH MAY,2026. NO GEN, NO LIGHT, BUT GLORY TO GOD"
Hi guys, it’s Otidi here. Here’s how my day went.
My day started early. I left home very early, made sure everyone did their chores, and coordinated my kid brothers before they left for school.
By 7, I then headed to the shop.
When I got there, I started thinking about the gen issue. The landlord said we shouldn’t use gen again like we normally do, so I was wondering how I’d handle work if someone came in.
And sure enough, a client came in. But I couldn’t do the job because of the gen restriction.
The electrician I called said he’d come later today, so I explained to the client and they understood.
Fast forward to 10 AM, the electrician arrived. But we still couldn’t work because the key to the ceiling space is with the landlord, and he wasn’t around.
So the guy left, and I was stuck thinking — if another client comes, what do I do?
Business has been bad this week, but today a few people still came in. I couldn’t deliver most jobs because there was no light and we couldn’t use the gen.
I explained to everyone what was going on, and some said they’d come back. For the ones I could, I handled the parts that didn’t need printing.
This went on till evening. I got so pissed I had to take the gen outside and run one small job.
I couldn’t wait any longer.
By 7 PM I closed the shop, took a bike home, and dad came back home from his journey with akara and bread in his hand. We had that as dinner.
Thank God for today. It wasn’t like the past two days where I wasn't sleeping off.
The chickens were fine today too, so I’m relieved.
I think I’ll rest long tonight. Maybe play some Free Fire — I’m getting a little addicted, not gonna lie 😅
