I have been following these two cases for several days now. Whether it is Facebook, TV news channels, or newspapers—these cases are dominating every medium. Both cases involve the mysterious deaths of two young women shortly after their marriages. One was Twisha Sharma, who had been married for a mere five months, and the other was Deepika Nagar, who had been married for fourteen months. Both women were well-educated and beautiful. Twisha Sharma, in particular, was a highly qualified MBA graduate, a beautiful woman, and an actress. Her husband was a lawyer, and her mother-in-law was a retired judge.

She was in such distress that, in her chat messages, she would plead, "Mom, take me away from here; these people won't let me live." However, every parent tends to believe that the initial phase of marriage requires time for a young woman to adjust; since no parent wants to see their daughter's marriage fall apart, they typically counsel her to "adjust, dear." Then, suddenly, the news arrived at their home that their daughter had hanged herself.

Now, the fact that she was deeply unhappy—so much so that she might have hanged herself or committed suicide—is something one could potentially comprehend. However, suspicions arose when injury marks were discovered on her body; if she had indeed hanged herself, where did those injury marks come from? This is a matter that demands serious thought—and that constitutes the first case.

Let us turn to the second case: Deepika Nagar, who had been married for fourteen months. She fell from the third floor of a building; initially, it was suggested that she had simply slipped or accidentally fallen from above. However, her body bore marks of horrific injuries—including a small puncture wound visible on her abdomen. It appeared as though someone had thrust a screwdriver deep inside her. Given the sheer brutality of this killing, how could anyone possibly overlook these signs and dismiss it as a case of suicide? If she had merely fallen from a height, one would expect a fractured skull or broken limbs; but how could a fall result in a puncture wound in the abdomen and bruises on both ears?

Currently, there is widespread public outrage; yet, what will be the ultimate outcome? The legal proceedings will simply drag on and on. For those parents whose daughters were taken from them—their daughters are gone forever. And for the daughters who have passed away—how can anyone ever compensate for the physical pain they endured, the trauma they suffered, and the mental agony they underwent? It is impossible. Sometimes, I simply cannot fathom how human beings can become so utterly heartless. Oh, the things humans do! In the case of Deepika Nagar, a lavish wedding was held at a cost of one crore rupees—yet, even after all that, the groom's family remained insatiable. They demanded an additional 51 lakh rupees and a Fortuner car. When her parents were unable to meet these demands, they killed their daughter. A young woman was sacrificed for the sake of a Fortuner car and 51 lakh rupees. What kind of people are these? They lack the capability to earn a living themselves, yet they constantly beg from others. How do they find the audacity to kill someone else's daughter?

Whenever I witness such cases—when I see the anguish of the bride's family and hear the weeping of her parents—my mind becomes deeply distressed. Yet, the law continues to demand evidence, even when the reality of the situation is glaringly obvious. A parent's heart is torn apart when they witness the death of their own young child. Parents arrange marriages for the sake of their children's happiness; they certainly do not do so only to have their daughter return home on a funeral pyre. It would be far better for her to remain unmarried—that would be a much preferable fate. You nurture and raise a daughter with such care, only for another man to come along and kill her. What has happened to our society? Why have people become such beggars?
