I totally agree with Ronnie (@ronnie10) and with @corpsekaizen.
More interesting is who decided that Herman is a great artist. A junk he was and if it comes to his music he never had that many hits. I assume it is more about the total picture, good PR, which is the case if it comes to most famous artists these days.

Since you mention a child at work, what to think about Karel Appel? Who knows all Dutch artists are fruitcakes.
