Social media is brainwashing. It often makes me feel sad, but there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s true that it’s addictive, but for me it’s also the only way I can still keep in touch with family and friends. Even though it’s difficult to use and I often have to do it in secret, and I’m not allowed to use it without permission.
Sometimes I think back to the time when none of this existed and there was still time to pop on the phone or just have a chat in the street. Now it feels as though there’s less and less time. I don’t really believe the news anymore and I’d rather not listen to it.
I don’t believe children are more gullible than adults; you can’t stop children from going online, and teenagers and young adults aren’t children anymore—they should already have been brought up by their parents. Parents might be the danger, but everyone has to learn. So perhaps education is the danger, because education doesn’t teach us what is a lie and what is the truth.
Steem on en stay aware.
Social media has become a necessity but it is like sugar. You enjoy it and then become addictive.
