My story : Growing vegetables, dinner.

Hello, my lovely friends!
This morning I have something fun to do. A few days ago, I weeded this empty space and planted a few kinds of vegetables to harvest and eat in the future. Later in the morning, I had work to do, taking care of the children, and even tonight it's time to cook dinner. It's a simple daily routine. My story begins early this morning at 7:30 AM.

At 7:30 a.m., I woke up and remembered I'd bought two packs of long bean seeds a long time ago. Luckily, two days prior I'd cleared the weeds in the empty space in front of the house to prepare for planting vegetables, and there was still some space left. So, I planted the long bean seeds. The morning air was lovely; a cool, comfortable breeze, and the tall lime tree provided good shade. I carefully sowed the long bean seeds in two or three holes and will wait to see when they sprout before making a trellis for them to climb.

Ironing time: It wasn't until around 10:00 AM, after I'd finished planting beans and sweeping and mopping the kitchen, that it was time for the heavy housework: washing and ironing the clothes. Before this, I'd had a huge pile of ironing clothes because I was busy with my crochet garland project, haha! Once that was done, it was time to clear up the backlog. I didn't even have time to eat, so my husband bought me lunch and snacks. I worked, ate, and watched a series – it was such a wonderful time for me, haha!

Who looked after the children? While I was doing housework, the children needed looking after, so my husband took over. He also helped them with their homework and reading. After that, they went to the small shop to buy some small toys, one for each, as he had promised them. Soon, they returned with a box of Lego each. The Lego wasn't very expensive, only 2.6 ringgit. When they got home, the children sat down to build with their Lego. As for me, it was time to prepare dinner.

Tonight's dinner menu has three dishes. The first is stir-fried pork in black sauce with potatoes, a dish I really dislike. However, it's healthy and delicious, and I really enjoy making it because it's not complicated at all. But there's a secret: if you cook it with care, the taste improves. If you just rush through it, the taste will be different. That's true because I've experienced it myself, haha!

Menu item number 2: Stir-fried spinach. I didn't used to eat much spinach; I'd seen it around, but never thought to try it until I came to Malaysia with my husband's family. This time, he really liked it. Stir-frying it with a little oyster sauce gave it a surprisingly delicious flavor.

The third dish today is stir-fried bitter melon with eggs. I sliced the small bitter melons into thin strips, stir-fried them with eggs and oyster sauce. Soon, the aroma of garlic sautéing in hot oil filled the air, and a delicious dish was ready. The taste was very sweet without needing any added sugar. I also added chopped chilies and soy sauce to serve with the otherwise bland stir-fried vegetables, which enhanced the flavor and made it more appetizing.
And that's my story for today, about staying home during the kids' school holidays. Sometimes there are fun activities to talk about. Thank you so much, friends, for reading my article today. See you again in the next article. Bye-bye.
