On May 11, a new space company was presented, it is called Cowboy Space Corporation, it sounds very American and it is, they have presented the presentation video, it was created by Baiju Prafulumar Baat, he is an American businessman of Indian origin, he is a billionaire and known mainly for being the co-founder of Robin Hood, which is a financial company.

It's curious, all these new technological billionaires like Elon Musk were born or left financial companies, that is, first they looked for a source of money and then they have managed to get into these projects. What is this about? Why have you gotten involved in a space company now? The fundamental reason is because he always dreamed of it, of having a space company, in fact, he has a training that should allow him to know where to move forward in this field, since he studied physics and mathematics at Stanford, it is not that it is a space engineering degree, it is the type of training that gives an understanding of what you are getting into.

And what's more, his father was a scientist at NASA, he worked as a scientist at NASA and during his childhood, he was surrounded by that world of science, technology, space engineering, etc. What do you want to do now with this company? Its star project is to build a network of data centers in Earth orbit powered by solar energy, it is that giant satellite that you see at the end of the video and of course also develop the rockets to send all those satellites into space.

The project is very similar to the one announced a few weeks ago by Elon Musk who announced that he wanted to create a constellation of one million satellites and manufacture them on the moon, which would also be data centers and would also be powered by solar energy. The Space Cowboy project is different because its satellites would be huge, much larger than Elon Musk's, each node would weigh between 20 to 25 tons.

The plan is to launch many fewer satellites than in Elon Musk's plan, it wouldn't be a million, but each of those satellites would be much larger and much more powerful, it wouldn't be millions, but it would still be several thousand satellites, the big question right now is, is there that much room in space? for so many satellites or rather in orbits, especially in low Earth orbit, because that is where almost all of them are going to go, because now we are talking about these two companies, and Elon Musk with Starlink already has thousands of satellites in orbit and still needs to put thousands more satellites.

With this project that Elon Musk has to add a million satellites, imagine the number of satellites there would be and with this other company, several thousand more, but obviously if the idea works and is profitable they will not be the only ones. China, India, Japan, Europe, Russia, well they will also want to have their own constellations.

We are talking about launches, several launches a day and seeing how they disintegrate in the sky every day, satellites, in fact, there are already some satellites disintegrating every day somewhere on the planet, but at this scale, having millions of satellites in orbit, things get complicated, especially because no method has yet been developed to eliminate space debris and really, 40 years ago it was a lot of jokes, in space there is a lot of space, there is no problem with space debris, well No.

In space there is a lot of space until there is no more space, that is mathematical and low earth orbit is not infinite, the universe may be infinite, but earth orbits are not, so I don't know how this is going to end, by the way, the company just filed, and it has already raised $275 million. It's tremendous.
