One week update on my "brain rot" journey 🫠
I shared in my previous post that I had looked up some solutions for brain rot and decided to work on them. It's been almost a week since I started trying.
First of all, I want to clarify that this is not a medical condition. These are just some habits people recommend to improve focus and reduce mindless scrolling.
The solutions I found were:
No screens in the morning
Reading books
Sitting quietly
Physical activity
Using the phone as a reward
Bonus for you
Out of these, I've been trying to use my phone as a reward instead of constantly checking it. I haven't really managed to include physical activity yet, but I've tried to spend some time sitting quietly. Also, I used to keep my phone with me during every task, but now I'm trying to focus on the task itself and avoid using my phone while working.
The one thing I still struggle with is not looking at a screen for the first 30 minutes after waking up. That's been quite difficult because I'm so used to checking my phone as soon as I wake up. Still, I'll keep trying.
One small win is that my screen time has gone from 9–10 hours a day to around 7–8 hours, which is definitely progress.
I'll keep working on it and see how things go✨
