What is crypto mining and how does it work?
Assalamu Alaikum
A very basic and interesting topic in the world of cryptocurrency is called crypto mining. Simply put, it is a digital process through which transactions on the network are verified and completely new cryptocurrencies are added to the market or pool. Just as central banks print and release paper money into the market, miners are responsible for this task in the case of cryptocurrencies. It is essentially a decentralized computing process that keeps the entire blockchain network secure and operational.
When people around the world send each other cryptocurrencies, those transactions are initially deposited in a temporary pool. Miners try to combine these transactions and create a new block. In order to add this new block to the blockchain, the miners' computers have to solve a very complex cryptographic or mathematical puzzle, which is called proof of work in technical terms. Solving this puzzle requires a lot of computing power or processing power. The miner's computer that first finds the correct solution or hash to this complex mathematical puzzle sends it to other computers on the network for verification. The rest of the computers quickly check the solution and if everything is correct, the new block is permanently added to the blockchain ledger. As a reward for successfully adding the block, the miner is given a certain amount of brand new cryptocurrency and all the transaction fees of that block as a reward. In the hope of this tempting reward, miners around the world keep their powerful computers running day and night.
Although mining was initially possible with a simple personal computer, the competition has now increased a lot. Now, mining requires a powerful graphics card or specially designed ASIC mining rig or computer. These powerful devices are capable of completing calculations at a very fast speed while saving a lot of electricity.
In short, crypto mining is the main driver behind the security of blockchains and the creation of new currencies. If miners didn’t use their powerful computers to verify these transactions, it would be impossible to prevent fraud on the blockchain. Although this process consumes a lot of electricity, crypto mining is the real hero behind the scenes in keeping a secure, transparent, and decentralized global economy running. Today's discussion concludes here. I hope you've found it interesting. Please share your thoughts on today's topic. Prayers for everyone. May everyone be well. Amen.
