I had a walk in the park

Today, it was not raining, so I had a walk in the park, the late-afternoon light turning leaves into warm coins.

People moved in small, careful way as people as elderly as me sat on a bench for a while. A child chasing pigeons, a man trying to pluck mangoes with a stick

The path smelled faintly of cut grass and wet earth from an earlier shower, and distant traffic hummed like a low apology.

I slowed my steps, noticing a stray blossom stuck to a bench, a stray dog toward a puddle trying to drink water.

I walked for thirty minutes, as I am not so comfortable after that bike accident so I breathed differently.
