Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 12/31/18> It’s about time…stick a fork in it.

in #dailydose7 years ago (edited)

So today marks...

So today marks the end of 2018 and it couldn’t have come soon enough as far as I am concerned. I’ll even say that I am glad I didn’t get a birthday this year or that would mean we would still have another day to go before this year of 2018 is over.

This year has...

This year has been a disaster as far as the crypto markets are concerned as best I can tell. Luckily for us we have the SMT’s here on steemit and those are saving our bacon when it comes to the value of steem.

What? We don’t? You are kidding me; we don’t have SMT’s yet? Damn.

I’ve been so busy lately I guess I missed that those hadn’t happened. So what is keeping steem up at the high value of $0.37 ? It is $0.37 isn’t it? Or is that something else that I might be missing the mark on? Please; don’t tell me it is really $0.25 USD for one steem.

The good news...

The good news in crypto for me is my hodling (holding) of WangChange. I don’t believe it has dropped one bit since I acquired it earlier in 2018 as winnings from some poker tournament games. I probably should check before making that statement but it wasn’t worth anything when I got it and I doubt it can go lower than nothing, can it?

You know...

You know; I might just try something crazy in 2019 and start my own pseudo crypto currency. I say “pseudo” because it would be backed by the precious substances of salt and pepper. I could go down to the wholesale market and buy a bunch of salt and pepper packets, no better yet, I could look at getting some made with a private label just for us with “Sult” on the salt and “Papper” on the pepper. That way we know that someone isn’t just devaluing the currency by picking up some packets like the ones pictured at the top of this Daily Dose at the McD’s or Jack in the Crack.

Now we need...

Now we need a name for this new crypto currency. How does SNP’s sound for sult and pappers? Maybe it should PKZ’s for packets. I have noticed some crypto’s have gone to using a separate denomination for fractions of their currency and that might be an idea to consider as well. I have seen “bits” used for the fractional amounts and since salt and pepper do have different values I think we might need to go that direction as well.

Should it be...

Should it be 10 sult to 1 papper or should it be 25 or 50 to 1? Ever since the doctors have been saying that salt is not good for you salt hasn’t been in high demand. Trust me; those doctors don’t know all they pretend to know. Especially the young doctors, all they know is what drug to prescribe for what symptom. They have no clue on diagnosing the source of the problem. That hasn’t been taught in medical schools for years; diagnosing the cause of the problem.

I think 10...

I think 10 to 1 is a good ratio, the easier the math the better. So; 10 sults (damn we need two names, one for the sult and one for the papper). Let’s go back to the names; salt has grains so how about GRNZ’s for sult and papper has flakes so FLKZ’s for papper?

I don’t know about the names, we may still have to work on those. I do like the “Z”’s in the name though, the letter Z just doesn’t get enough use in my opinion in the English language.

So, 10 GRNZ's...

So, 10 GRNZ’s will equal 1 FLKZ when this pseudo crypto launches here in 2019. Before I announce any prices and do an ICO I am going to have to do some research, at this point I don’t have a clue on what the price will be to get this new form of physical / pseudo crypto currency packaged. One thing I do know is there is a demand for sult and papper because it is for sale in the grocery stores as I type this, the only difference is they spell it differently.

What? You want to know what type of papper we will be using? Of course it is black papper; and white sult too.

I try to keep things simple and there is nothing more simple than black and white. When you start mixing color in things people get all bent out of shape. Red papper is good, don’t get me wrong, but there are just too many varieties of red pappers. This is hard enough to figure out without all the questions so let’s keep those to a minimum if you will please.

I do know that...

I do know that there won’t be any “air drops” of GRNZ’s or FLKZ’s the last thing I need is someone claiming that we did an air drop and it landed on their steak and ruined it. Besides that, I know this currency will have value; all those folks doing air drops are just hoping that their currency will have some value at some point in time.

Sult n papper has...

Sult n papper has been adding flavor and enhancing taste for years. Even the Romans used sult n papper and there is even a saying people still use today when talking bad about someone. You’ve heard it said, “he isn’t worth a grain of sult”.” Well we aren’t going to get down to individual grains and flakes; we’ll stick with the packets.

You know...

You know, this isn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be, creating a new crypto currency. I wonder if Wally Wang had all these same issues when he was creating his WangChange. I might am going to ask some folks with experience who I know have created their own crypto for advice before proceeding any farther.

I do happen to...

I do happen to know a few of those and thus far really only one of those has actually had his currency show real value and that would be the guy running the poker sites I play on named Tuck Fheman. I think I had better talk to old Tuck before I get any further down this road of starting my own crypto.

I wish you all a very prosperous 2019 and may all your dreams come true. 2018 is over; stick a hard fork in it.
(Oh; sorry, we did that already back in September)

Until next time,
@sultnpapper

I think you can actually build yourself a cryptocurrency through Bitshares or something... You might have to pay for it, but it's pretty cheap. However I think you need a name that trips off the tongue. How about the Guzbuck? I think that name would inspire confidence. I would definitely hodl a few Guzbucks.

I like that, damn, I like that. I don't know why the hell I didn't think of that. Thanks, it may just end up being guzbucks.

Hmmmmmmm. Sounds like a plan. If I had any money to spare I'd send you a few million so I could get in on the ground floor of this. Just in case, don't you know.

Far as the actual stuff we could trade for, it's a little problematic for me. Must be 40 years ago that I quit shaking salt on my food automatically and went to tasting it before. Turns out that most stuff I eat has enough salt and hardly any has enough pepper. I have fresh ground both for quite a few years, too.

I like several subsets of the FLKZs. The obvious black, of course, but red is nice in the right spots too. There is a round red pepper around here called 'chili capin' that will warm stuff right up. Take a seed between thumb and first finger and break it into FLKZs over your food and you can leave that North Carolina Tabasco out of the equation.

I have a small bag of Vietnamese peppers I use for some Chinese Cooking. They are hot (don't rub your eyes) and I count them in and count them out before eating. 5 go in? Get 5 out before you eat it...

I read the title of this and my first thought for a closing line here was "I don't need to stick a fork in it, it's past done" but you just clobbered that with 'stick a hard fork in it'. Maybe the best line of the year on the very last day! Happy New Year, my friend!

Yes, the FLKZ's could get real tricky if I didn't go with black. There are just so many choices of red and green too. Then the banana peppers too would add problems. So for simplicity black is the obvious choice even though it may not be the most potent when flavoring.

Glad you liked that last line. I just had to take one final jab at that fiasco before we moved on to 2019.

I did venture over to the SOS discord but it was late last night and not much cooking there at that moment. I will be going back though, some real brain power in there for sure when it comes to this blockchain stuff.
Happy New Year to you and Sam as well.

Lol this was a real treat to read. I like your crypto plans and the names you created. I’m not sure what 2019 will bring but I hope it’s upward from here.

Wishing you and yours a happy and prosperous New Year!! 🎉

I to will be glad to see out 2018 and hope 2019 is a good year for us all

I think the 10 to 1 ratio of Sult to Papper sounds like a good plan to me

Oh, I like the idea of your GRNZ & FLKZ cryptocurrency! 😁 And I had to chuckle at your "no airdrops brecause..."  comment! 😂

I do wish a very HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and the whole papper clan! 💛

Yes, I think GRNZ's & FLKZ's have potential to be used and could be huge because of the real value. Who doesn't need them or use them already? Having them in small uniform packages will make it very easy to use as currency, kind of like $1 and $10 bills.
If you have to break a package open if the price is $6.49, you would just give them 7 GRNZ's and tell them to keep the change rather than break a GRNZ open and sprinkle it out.
I still have a lot of work to do on this but I will hold firm on the no airdrops, glad you got a chuckle there.
Happy New Year to you too.

Don't just "stick a fork in it." Keep stabbing it until you're sure it's dead.

Yes, that is for sure. Good one.

Congratulations! This post has been chosen as one of the daily Whistle Stops for The STEEM Engine!

haha! sir sultnpapper! Very entertaining post sir and 2019 better be a heck of a lot better for steem and cryptos!

Glad you enjoyed it @janton. I do hope cryptos rebound this year for sure.
