Playing Pentris on Steem Retrogames
I have tried playing a game on Steem Retrogames. They happen to have a really nice website with a variety of different classic games. I tried a game called Pentris. It's practically the same as Tetris, but with some level of complexity because of the different shapes. I can't call myself good at Tetris so it makes perfect sense that I lost this one too quickly.
Getting Started 🔘
Their website is very nice, simple and well designed. The design looks like a vintage arcade with the buttons. I saw games like Space Invasion and Steem Pong which I'll be trying after posting. I started playing Pentris. There is a button that says play on the bottom, I pressed it and the game started.
The Gameplay ▶️
One of the main differences of Pentris from Tetris that I saw was that it has 5, instead of 4 squares for each block. They doing that made larger shapes that are more challenging to fit which makes the game all the better.
The empty spots are goiy to pile up as you have to move the blocks to the left and right, and also rotate the blocks to make them fit in the rows. Completing a row is what gets you points. I got distracted and stood up to check the tap flowing and that's why I started losing in the end so quickly.
My goal was to keep the blocks as low as possible. The game has to end when your blocks come the to top of the screen, so like I said, Tetris.
One thing I know is that the long shapes are the best for clearing lots of rows but you need to be fast and have control over the buttons very fast to it off right.

I managed to play for a little while, if a little while is about 3 minutes and 40 seconds.
The game picks up speed the longer you play. I made little mistakes and left a few gaps but the blocks reached the top and I ended with a score of 69, Game Over.
I feel very proud of my score for playing it the first time. Steem Retrogames has a beautiful atmosphere. I will certainly try to improve my score next time. I highly recommend you try it.
