Create a piece inspired by the phrase “Almost There.”

The path doesn't look straight instead it looks bent and not broken.

Dust in the path can easily spoil someone shoes, and the sky burns gold like a promise waiting to be kept.

Each step taken on the road feels heavier than the last

Almost at the last point, the wind seems to whisper not as a guarantee, but as an obstacle.

Signs line the way: keep moving.
You have gone this far.
But none of them will carry you forward.

The goal is ahead of you and it is so close to you to see it.
And in the space between where you want to be and where you are, you will see the truth.

You're not only chasing your destination.
You were building your confidence and strength to reach your goal.

Is your interpretation positive, negative, or mixed? Explain.

My interpretation is a mix of both positive, and negative, but positive stands out the most. "Almost" carries frustration because I haven't reached my destination yet which highlights the distance that is still remaining for me to reach my destination. But at the same time, it is hopeful to me because I have already come far

The image in the context shows both struggle which is the uphill climb and the encouragement which is the signs and visible goal making it a balance of determination and doubt.

What does “almost” teach about patience or persistence?

"Almost" reaches that progress is not the same thing as completion, that both are two different things that still matter. It forces patience because I realise that effort doesn't always produce results immediately.

Also, it demands persistence, because stopping at "almost" means all that I have so far done is unfinished. In summary, the test right before the reward is what "almost" teaches.

Share a personal or imagined scenario that connects to your piece.

As a student, I have been studying for months for the JAMB exam. Late at night, I missed outings, pressure so I could pass my examination. When the results came out I fell just a few marks short of my goal.

At first, it feels like a failure to me.
All my effort and still not enough.

But then I look closer
I didn't fail I improved massively from where I started.

That moment of me almost succeeding becomes a turning point for me. Instead of quitting I adjust my strategy, study smartly, and try it again. In my next writing, I exceeded my goal. To this, "almost" didn't end my journey it refined it for me.
