SC-S31/W1-Movie Magic | Movie About Choices: Monpura.
Hello steemian friends!
Movie is not just a medium of entertainment, it often acts as a catalyst for changing our thoughts and consciousness in life. Personally, I think that a good movie can provide the right direction during times of depression or mental instability. During the ups and downs of love in my life from 2006 to 2013, I used to watch a lot of movie. Among those cinemas, Manpura seems to me to be a historical and romantic creation. Today, I have arranged my challenge for this week with this movie.

Monpura is not just a movie, it is an immortal love story of a rural town in Bengal. Although it is a basic story-based film, there is a touch of folk culture in every layer of it. Every scene and song of the movie creates a deep cry in the hearts of the audience. Especially the separation of two lives as victims of rural politics brings tears to the eyes of the audience. Which shows how the simple faith of a hero turns into a cruel reality.
👉What single decision in the movie changed everything?
The main plot of the movie Monpura takes a turn through an emotional belief and a self-sacrificing decision. The protagonist Sonai takes the responsibility of a murder on his shoulders, which he did not actually commit. In a complicated situation at the landlord's house, he takes the false responsibility of this crime as a token of gratitude for his loyalty and love.
This single decision of Sonai changes the entire course of the movie and his own life forever. He thought that through this sacrifice, someone else's life might be saved, but in reality the result of this decision is very tragic. As a result of this decision, despite his innocence, he has to serve a long prison sentence and in the end their love turns into a tragedy. This step of Sonai is the biggest proof that a wrong decision or an emotional choice can push a person's life into a dark hole.

👉 What would you have done differently?
If I were Sonai, I would not make decisions based on emotions, but on reality. Love or loyalty does not mean destroying one's own existence. If I were Sonai, I would try to take the following steps:
☞I would try my best to reveal the truth. Sacrifices based on lies never bring lasting benefits. History says so.
☞I would try my best to prove my innocence and try to handle the situation in such a way that the real culprit gets punished. Because the culprit has to get the culprit. The culprit never corrects himself.
☞I would stay on the path of truth, even if it was to protect the beautiful future I had with Pari. Because I think that if you yourself are destroyed, the dear people associated with you are also destroyed.
👉 Did the character’s choice feel right or wrong to you? And why?
Sonai's decision was basically an expression of blind passion and misplaced loyalty towards her uncle. A person's greatest asset is his life and freedom. Abandoning that asset like this based on the faith of others cannot be a logical solution. Sonai not only ruined her own life through this sacrifice, but also plunged Pari's life into a sea of extreme uncertainty and sorrow. Love should never be self-destructive. True love motivates people to move forward, but Sonai's decision was a sign of an escapist mentality. Instead of facing reality, she took refuge in lies and put herself in danger based on emotions and beliefs, the final result of which we saw was a tragic death of the innocent Pari.
Finally, after watching the movie Manpura, I deeply realized that we have to make many difficult decisions at every juncture of life. If we are guided only by emotions while making those decisions, the results can be as tragic as Sonai's. Every action has a consequence, and that consequence affects not only us alone, but also our family and loved ones. Sonai's simplicity reminds us that not all sacrifices are always noble, some sacrifices only lead to destruction.
