Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 140: Just Broken, Not Dead.

Walking on the road, rain falling, and the gutter is full, everywhere is flooded. You don't even have umbrella, shoe is already soak, and you are wondering, “How will I be able to cross this water which block my front?” That's how life is sometimes. It will show you problem that can make you to feel that there's no way out. But somehow, you will still find small stepping stone, jump on it , and reach the other side. That's how tough time always be.

One time, I lose my job. It was a contract work I did, and they just cancel it without warning. Rent waiting, food finish, and even transport money was a struggle. I look myself and said, “How will I survive like this?” Honestly, it was really like the whole world was just against me alone. But I didn't give up. I start to hustle, I help people to write CV, did small online jobs, even sell recharge card online. Slowly, I begin to gather small money. That period teach me that even when the road is block, if you can calm down and think, you will still find another way.

Before that job loss, I really value big salary, fine clothes, and enjoyment. But after I pass through that fire, I begin to value peace of mind, health, and true friendship. Because those things do stay with a person when there's no money. My neighbor, also my friend which always share food with me, it was him I valued more. So now, I don't always chase only money again. I chase balance, I chase people which will stand by me when problems comes.

Recently, I manage to save money to buy a laptop. To some people, it's an ordinary thing. But to me, it's a big achievement. Because it's that laptop that will help me to do online work better, learn new skills, and connect with people which will give me opportunity. That small win gave me hope that bigger wins do come. Sometimes its just little steps that lead you to reach the mountain top.

I have realize that life is not to be a competition. Everybody has his own lane. Back then, I do compare myself with people which drive big car or travel abroad frequently living classic lifestyle. But now, I understand that my journey is my own. If I am consistent, always grateful, and push myself, I will reach my own destination. However,as at now i don't rush anymore. I always take life one day at a time, because it's patience that can build strong foundation.

Well, i can simply that its true, because when you do your best to survive tough time till the end, you will be having new wisdom, new strength, and new courage. Like me, that job loss make me to be stronger, make me to be wise, make me to value small wins. But sometimes, the pain can leave a scar. Some people won't be able to recover fully. So it's not automatic.

It's how you used in handling the problem will determine if you will be strong or if you will be weak. Therefore If you do your best to face it with courage, you will be much strong. If you give up, it can break you. So the saying has truth inside, but it's your mindset that will decide the outcome.

So in all, life is like a market: everybody do buy and sell, but what you carry back to your house after paying the price is your own. Tough time do come, but if you can hold yourself, you will still shine.
