Some days pass silently while others leave great memories within the mind. Many times this is always caused by the level of achievements, experience, and just maybe awareness of every moment of that day. ‎Sometimes, some days may seem very ordinary but have much impact when one reflects upon them.

Today, I just decided to be mindful of my ins and outs, and I just realized it was nothing but special and enjoyable. ‎‎

Like every other day, the day just started silently at about 6:00 am. By this time I was already awake, though I was still feeling sleepy and uneasy about leaving my bed; this happened due to late-night sleep. My eyes were heavy, but I struggled to search for my phone. When I finally had a touch on my phone, I remembered immediately that chat I never finished the previous night with my gist mate on WhatsApp. I actually replied to some of his messages but didn't reply to all since I never did my morning prayers as my daily routine requires. ‎‎

At about 6:30 am, I quietly left WhatsApp and opened my Bible app on my phone to check my daily Bible verse, and there I stumbled on the verse Proverbs 3:6, which reads, "In all your ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct your paths." ‎The smile on my face as I read this verse was alarming because this verse has been one of my favorite verses. I will call it a beautiful coincidence. ‎I actually spent some time praying there after. ‎

Morning cleanup started at about 6:45 am. I really took time cleaning my windows, arranged my bed, and swept the floor, making sure everything was put in its place. By this time, music was playing softly on my small MP3 connected to my phone. This kept my mind stable for the clean, and everything became brighter and more beautiful. These are some of the gospel songs I listened to: ‎

  • Unending Joy by Moses Bliss, Greatman Takit‎

  • No Turning Back by Gaise Baba and Lawrence Oyo‎

  • Promise Keeper by Sound of Salem, Post. Oche Ogebe‎‎

The sweet progression of the morning was tight to the soft music of the background.‎‎

At about 7:15 am, my gas cylinder was already lighted up, ready to warm my sweet leftover okra soup. I had some leftover garri too, so I didn't think twice about enjoying the hot soup and cold garri as my breakfast. ‎The music that continued in the background just made every moment of the eating enjoyable with no regrets. ‎‎

About 8:00 am, we were ready to journey to my brother's newly rented apartment. We weren't just there for nothing; our mission was for cleanup, and so the cleaning started with some pieces of unused racks since we already paid someone to wash the rooms for us. ‎The cleaning process was easy-going and soft, and the secret was just the African hot praises that were hitting from my small MP3 connected to my phone as they were from the initial.

‎When we finally progressed to sweeping, sweats visited us like an emergency due to the hot room. ‎Our cleaning continued till we checked all the switches and bulbs to be sure they were in order and good working condition. ‎Everything was in place by this time, and we returned to my place to have some rest since we were tired already. ‎‎

It was approximately 1:00 pm when we headed to the plaza in Uyo to get some items for the house. We kept on moving from shop to shop, checking where we could get those items at cheap prices until we came to a place where an Igbo young man was selling. Luckily, he had all the items we needed.‎

We started bargaining on the prices of each item until we were able to get everything. The items we bought included plates, pots, spoons, wastebaskets, storage baskets, water containers, a gas cylinder, and other necessary items. I made an advanced payment since I was the one with my brother's ATM card. ‎This advance payment was done due to the fact that we wanted to go somewhere else to get foam before we would come back to carry our items, and that was how we left and went in search for foam. ‎‎

By this time the sun was already too hot, and it made the movement stressful. Someone directed us to where we could possibly get a foam, and we headed that direction immediately, but we discovered the shops over there were closed.

The reason was quite clear; it was on a Sunday, so many people don't usually open shops. ‎As the sun kept increasing, we were already sweating and tired. That was how we rested at one spot like that at the plaza. ‎While we were resting, we spotted one old Hausa man who was selling vintage clothes. His clothes were quite attractive, and so our wants grew to needs, and I took two vintage clothes worth twenty thousand while my brother took one. That was how we paid thirty thousand on an emergency product. It's actually funny how that happened. ‎

Our movement continued again back to where we bought house items, and we took our items, made complete payment of sixty-six thousand naira, and journeyed back home. ‎At home, I decided to check how one of those clothes I bought looks on me, and wow, it was beautiful, especially with the yellow color, which looked quite attractive.

Our arrangement continued softly and steadily until the time was exactly 6:50 pm. ‎‎The house was ready to be occupied. ‎The brightness and beautiful look of the arrangement of the room were just so welcomed. After everything, I took my bath and left my brother since I wasn't feeling hungry enough to eat. ‎‎

As the day came to an end, I just realized that the memories this day will hold on my mind not because of too many engagements but because of the consciousness behind every step and activity.‎

What do we do on days that feel light with no much activities?? We enjoy them and thank God for the privilege of being a part of them.
