Briefly share with us what you understand by Money

I am @Christabella from Nigeria. What I understand by Money is anything that is widely accepted as a means of exchange for goods and services within an economy. It plays a central role in everyday life by making it easier for people to buy, sell, and trade without the complications of barter systems where goods are exchanged for other goods. Beyond just being used to make payment, money also serves as a unit of account.

This means it provides a standard way to measure and compare the value of different products and services. For example, instead of trying to compare how many bags of rice equal a pair of shoes, money allows us to assign prices, making decisions clearer and more efficient. Another important function of money is that it acts as store of value. People can save money today and use it in the future, confident that it will still hold value over time.

Money also helps in deferred payments, meaning it can be used to settle debts or obligations at a later date. This is essential for loans, salaries, and many types of financial agreements. In modern times, money exists in different forms. It can be physical, such as coins and paper notes, or digital, such as the balance in a bank account or mobile money. There are also newer forms like cryptocurrencies, which operate online without central control

Are there things you will never do to get it no matter how pressured you are to get it?

There are moments in life when pressure feels overwhelming when the need to succeed, to succeed, or to prove something pushes you to the edge. In those moments, you are faced with choices, not easy choices, but defining ones. No matter how strong the pressure is, there are certain things we should never do just to get it.

I will never choose to hurt others just to get ahead. Success that is built on someone else's pain is not success it damages in disguise. I will never sacrifice my integrity. Because once honesty is gone, everything else loses its meaning. You may gain something fast, but you lose something far more valuable yourself. I will never betray trust. Trust is one of the most fragile and powerful things we have. Once broken, it's never the same again.

I will never take part of wrong doing just because it seems easier. Illegal or unethical actions may look like shortcuts, but they often leads to long term consequences that can destroy everything you are trying to build. And most importantly, I will never lose myself respect because at the end of the day , when everything is quiet and it's just me and my conscience, I have to be able to stand by my choice.

Have you being tempted or lured into the very things you vowed not to do to get money? Kindly share with us your experience.

Temptation is something almost everyone faces, especially when money is involved. There are moments when opportunities show up dressed in quick cash and shortcuts that seem harmless at first. There was a time when I presented with an opportunity that promised fast money with little effort like creating podcasts, but deep down, I knew it didn't align with my thoughts in what I expected.

But I had to pause and ask myself a hard question: What is the cost of this money? Not just financially, but morally, mentally, and in terms of my integrity. Because once you cross certain lines, it becomes easier to cross them again.
I chose to walk away. Not because it was easy, but because I understood that money gained at the expense of your values often comes with consequences you can’t always see immediately. So yes, the temptation will come. It may even come repeatedly.

Why have you chosen not to cross certain line because of money? Use your point as a strong advice to your readers

I didn't choose my values because they were easy, I chose them because they are the only things that remain when Money disappears. There are lines I have refused to cross for money, not because I haven't felt pressure, but because I understand something many people learn too late. Money can solve problems, but it can also create deeper ones when it costs you your integrity.

If I lie, cheat, exploit, or betray to get it, then it's too expensive. Money gained without integrity rarely last, peace of mind is more valuable than any payments. The respect you earn from doing things the right way will outlive any quick profit. I therefore invite @bossj23, @peacemike and @blessed to participate in the contest.
