This wonderful competition has been organized by the respected @solaymann brother. The topic of this week's challenge is “Cottage Craft Shop”. That is, a permanent cottage craft shop where various traditional handmade items are sold. Today I will share with you the detailed experience of a beautiful clay craft shop. Such cottage crafts are a living reflection of our rural heritage, culture and the skills of the craftsmen.Today I will share with you my experience about one such cottage industry shop located behind the registry office of Badarganj Upazila of Rangpur district.

The cottage industry shop that I visited today. It is located behind the Badarganj Registry Office in Rangpur district. A well-known clay handicraft shop. The shop offers various types of clay pots, pails, pitchers, flower pots, clay plates, lamps, and various other necessary and hobby items. As soon as I entered the shop, the smell of clay and the rows of products arranged felt like I had stepped into the lost heritage of Bengal. How beautifully the clay products of different shapes are arranged inside the shop. Some products are before being burned in the fire and some are fully prepared. Although the environment around the shop is simple, there is a wonderful touch of rural culture inside.

This cottage industry shop is located behind the registry office of Badarganj Upazila in Rangpur district. It is a well-known shop among the locals. It can be easily reached by rickshaw, auto or motorcycle from Badarganj Bazar or bus stand. There are some other small businesses around the shop. So even if someone is new to the shop, they can easily find it by asking people.

I have been seeing the beautiful clay items made in this shop since I was a child. I learned from the locals there to experience a new challenge. This shop has been running for many years. This business is basically run by the family. They still maintain the tradition of clay work learned from their ancestors. Earlier, the villagers used clay pots more for cooking, water conservation and various household purposes, but now due to modernity, its use has decreased a bit. Still, they are working tirelessly to sustain this industry.

There is a house behind this shop where some skilled craftsmen work. Some prepare the clay, some shape the clay pots with the help of a wheel. Some dry them in the sun and burn them. Since each product is completely handmade, their beauty and quality are much more attractive.I learned from the shop owner that the demand for clay products increases a lot here, especially during winter and various festivals. Then they work day and night to fulfill the orders.

There is electricity inside the shop. Since the shop is attached to the house, they can work inside the house whenever they want. There are separate shelves and spaces to store the products neatly. For security, the shop is surrounded by tin and walls. Also, special arrangements have been made to ensure that the products do not get damaged during rain. The shop environment was clean and the products were arranged very nicely. The shopkeeper was also very sincere and friendly.

I chose a small clay flower tub and some clay pots from the shop. I really liked the quality of the products. Especially since each item is handmade, they have a unique beauty. The shopkeeper was very friendly. He explained the use and manufacturing method of each product very well. I really liked the whole experience.Even though the use of silver, melamine, plastic and modern things is increasing nowadays, clay products have a different tradition and beauty. This type of cottage industry is an important part of our rural culture. These products made by local artisans are not only usable, but also play an important role in enhancing the beauty of the house. In my opinion, we should all encourage this type of cottage industry. Because if these industries survive, our tradition and culture will also survive. Overall, I liked this experience today.
