So Productive
The ground started to get hotter as the sun shines. The light broke through every window, lighting up dark rooms. He felt the brightness on his eyes. He opened them slightly. The rest of the face was still sleepy. The first thought came to mind was: "it was so productive!".
He got up from bed, went to wash his face. As soon as he opened the door, he saw his reflection in the mirror. Messed up hair representing how much selfcare he had, tired eyes from staying up all the late nights and a slim body from poorly managed meals. He surely did reach those targets at work. But, the stare he had to mirror at that time, was something different. Something that he has not felt for a long time. He was thinking, was it worth it? Was that a sort of a trade? Can health be put on a scale to measure against anything in life? Was it worth a second thought? A hold for a moment maybe? Would a simple appreciation justify, for all of this? What if, all of this was only to get the chance to receive an appreciation? He realized that, there was no enough time to go through this thinking process in the morning. As he was gathering his stuff, he thought, I will have this on a piece of paper, when there is time later. The phrase which puts his thoughts among a long queue of postponed stuff to be done.
