Gone but Never Forgotten

How are you all? I hope you are all well. So today I have come to share a special moment with you! Actually, that moment was both joyful and painful. It was a heartbreaking event for the entire nation! If you think about Bangladesh before the July 24 coup, then the story of Bangladesh was totally different. We only got a map called Bangladesh after its independence from Pakistan in the 71 war. If you look at the times after 71, you can see that we, the common people, actually got nothing. This country was going through one oppression and exploitation after another!

The common people got nothing in the times after 71. There was never a fair trial. No one even talked about justice. Every government that has come has looted this country. Then, after the fall of the fascist government of 17 years, we hoped to get a new Bengali Bangladesh. But that too is now in vain. I will talk about Sharif Osman Hadi. Who was a frontline soldier of the July coup? He was the secretary of Mukta Mancha. We got a new Bangladesh through the fearless participation of the student masses.

But in the new Bangladesh, we saw a few groups divided by the fence of interests. Sharif Osman Hadi always spoke for justice and fairness. And that Hadi was shot dead by a terrorist group. Despite many attempts, Hadi could not be saved! So I went to the parliament premises to attend Hadi's funeral! Going there, I felt like I saw the beginning of a new Bangladesh. In fact, good people do not stay long in this country! I do not know whether the justice that Hadi wanted to establish will happen or not. However, this generation will remember Hadi for a lifetime!

That day, there was a crowd of thousands of people in the parliament premises. People were bringing processions one after another and were gathering in front of the parliament plaza. I also witnessed that moment with the Bangladesh flag in my hand! The funeral was at two in the afternoon. We reached around nine in the morning. Because later, cars would not be allowed to enter. Two buses from our Duet went there! It was great to witness such a historic moment!

Actually, Hadis never dies. Such Hadis will continue to come to this country from generation to generation. However, this country will not be free until justice is established. The people will continue to be victims of exploitation and oppression!
