The Smiling Stranger
On a small island off the coast of Rottnest Island, a tiny quokka named Sunny wandered through the bushes every morning. Unlike the other quokkas, Sunny loved meeting new animals.
One day, after a heavy storm, Sunny found a frightened baby bird that had fallen from its nest. The little bird couldn't fly and was too scared to move.
Sunny stayed beside the bird all day, bringing it berries and keeping it warm during the cold night. For several days, Sunny guarded the bird until its wings became strong enough to fly again.
When the bird finally took off into the sky, it circled above Sunny three times as if saying thank you. From that day on, birds across the island would often gather near Sunny, and the tiny quokka became known as "The Smiling Guardian."
Visitors who spotted Sunny always left with a smile of their own, proving that kindness can be just as contagious as a smile.
