Health||In Retrospect of the just concluded international wellness Day

I was going through the social media and little did I know that the 15th of April every year is international wellness Day. Even though the day has come and gone, the wellness day is worth talking about and being participated in.

Promoting wellness in the society is a matter of necessity and so should not be ignored at all levels. Promoting wellness involves the following:

  • Providing preventative health care measures
  • Cost effective health solutions
  • Equipped and effective public health systems
  • Adoption of a good life-style practices
  • Eating a healthy food
    All these can help to achieve global wellness.

There are personal life-style that one could practice to achieve wellness. It could be an early morning long walk, an indoor exercise or sporting activities.

For me, I have come to understand that achieving a state of wellness takes a deliberate effort. Besides going for medical check ups, it has become almost a routine to engage in bodily physical exercises. Among the exercises, I found the yoga exercise so fascinating for me to achieve wellness.

For the yoga exercise, I try to practice it twice a day, early in the morning and later at night. Sometimes I skip the exercise but as long as it is on my exercise routines, I do it few times a week.

The yoga exercise enhances mental health and physical wellness or being. It could ease off stress and tensions. Thanks for the global wellness day that reminds everyone the need for our well-being.

The essence of the global wellness day is to create awareness and put measures in place for a total human well-being. It is on this reason that the United Nations General assembly declared every 15th April, a global wellness day.

The day is a means for educating, to share knowledge or information, and exchange of cultural ties to enhance both individual and general wellness of people around the globe.

The United Nations further lends its support for the day having recognized how the diversified cultures , traditional knowledge of medical practices and local communities, have really affected human well-being posiyely. But even in regards to this, the rising cost maintaining or attaining a state of wellness is really on the increasing side. This is also a point that the wellness day try to address.

As a community of parents and kids, it is also a matter of necessity for us to take the issues that concerns our wellness serious. We may not have all it takes to afford a good state of wellness but, we can actually begin with the little aspects we can afford or practice.

This issue about wellness is quite inexhaustive. Let's discuss more about it and share ideas.
