The Diary Game: 19th May,Slow Business, Fasting & Another Long Night.
Hi guys, it’s Otidi here. Welcome to another episode of How My Day Went.
My day started well. I got to the shop early this morning, took a bike there, and did my normal cleanup.
While cleaning, I was on the phone chatting with a friend. After the cleanup, I sat down, rested a bit, scrolled through my phone, and then got a call from my lady. She came over to the shop, and we spent the day together.
On the business side, things have been really slow this week. It feels like that period when you’re just starting a business and people don’t know you yet.
It’s not just me. My brother is complaining too from where he’s learning his handwork, and neighbors around are saying the same thing.
So it feels like a Nigeria thing right now, or maybe just my community. But I’m not worried. Even if it’s just me, God’s got me.
Fast forward to the afternoon — light finally came on late today.
I was fasting, so I broke my fast at 12 with my lady. We prayed, ate bread and kunu, and she also brought rice for me.
Honestly, I was really satisfied today. I ate plenty of food. I ate rice, beans, kunu and bread.
I wasn’t even planning to buy anything. I was just sitting there tired from last night, dosing off while we gisted. Her bringing food really helped, and I appreciated her for it.
She also brought a new bag today. I took pictures and did some quick edits using ChatGPT as usual.
We did a little marketing to my neighbor and my sister. Some people showed real interest and said they wanted to buy bags from her.
I love supporting my own. I just want to see her grow.
We stayed together, talked, gisted, and played around since customers weren’t really coming in.
A few of my students came in after school, but we didn’t do anything serious today.
The weather has been calm since the rain two days ago. Everywhere has been chill.
At 3 PM, she left for home. I stayed at the shop doing nothing much.
By 6 PM, I closed and headed home.
When I got home, the same thing that happened yesterday happened again.
A piece of wood fell on one of the chickens, and it didn’t survive.
I had to prepare and cook it. I made rice and beans, used the stew that was already in the pot while i fried the new chicken.
By 12 AM, I was done cooking and frying.
After that, I showered and wrapped up the day immediately. I wanted to play a game or watch a movie, but I really needed the sleep.
And that was how my day went.
