All you see individuals do is make their phone come first above everything else and forget that life doesn't stop at endless scrolling and continuous gaming.

01 How many hours do you use your mobile, and which application is used the most?

My mobile phone is not a joke to me; I don't let others use my phone because it's a matter of my privacy. I usually spend at least 8 hours on my smartphone every day, and this is because I have a routine for how I make use of my smartphone. The application that I always make use of the most is Chrome, and it is mainly because I am a kind of persona who likes to blog and engage with other users' content, I also have a routine of making sure that I comment on at least one user's post per day.

You see I have discovered that you can't just make a post on the platform and just leave, you have to engage with others by voting, commenting and also making sure that you stay active to get the latest news from communities and the steemit team, which is when in all my screenshots you will always find chrome at the top and am sure my visible engagement on the steemit platform proves it.

Last week's screen time analysis

My pattern of making use of my smartphone is always waking up, doing my chores as fast as possible, know my routes to gain admission into the university by always staying informed about the latest developments from the JAMB board, and lastly Check my steemit notifications and behind the writte down the posts for the day through making use of my daily post note, and that's where you see my making use of my writing app markor.

02 What are the reasons why you use your mobile phone so much?

I have seen a lot of people making use of their phones for a lot of things and discover that some don't have a purpose for using theirs. I make use of my phone mainly on the platform from playing the HARI RAID, to always taking part in activities, like voting and commenting, I would basically say that my phone only exists because of Steemit. An apartment form that I like to play the eFootball game, especially when I finish all my Steemit activities quickly for the day, and I'm like I wouldn't go to the field because of how my skin reacts to little bits from insects.

156323.png156321.png

I play eFootball up to 1hr 30mins when I feel the gaming spirit. But that doesn't stop me from checking the Steemit platform and also visiting my friends to hang out sometimes. I just feel that my mobile phone turns useless when it has no purpose.

For creating my posts

My screen time has a lot of positive and negative impact on my daily life, in the sense that I sometimes overuse some applications especially YouTube, I am not a big fan of social media scrolling but when I come across some Ronaldo or football clips, I continue till I forget that I have to sleep or do other things in life. The positive side is that I get to learn how to create quality content by reading others' posts while commenting. I just let my phone be when I feel that I have been spending too much time on it, forgetting that I have loved ones who need care and attention.

03 Share three physical activities that take you away from screen time.

One of the physical activities I enjoy and I would say helps me stay away from my smartphone is watching the Black Beret FC train on the field with my friends, or sometimes with my friends and know how their fairing. I recently visited my friend Joseph on Wednesday last week, he is currently writing his WAEC examination, so I felt that I should see him and ask how the examination was going.

I also make sure that I have proper sleep to keep me in shape on the go for the next day and sometimes during the day. When I visit my friends I get comfort and laugh away so worries which scrolling my smartphone doing things can't help, I become emotionally free to express myself in whatever manner I choose because I have those who will help me resolve problems and give me good advice.

Going to watch the ballers training makes me remember that life is all about doing what you love when you like and how you want it, seeing the players playing like they're born footballers enables me to value and cherish my chosen sport, basketball which my friends and I play once in a while. I love visiting my friends because it helps me show them I care and also gives me that feeling of having those who you can spend time with when your day seems off.

04 What benefits did you see when you reduced your screen time?

There were a lot of benefits that came when I reduced my screen time. The first was that I could easily assist my brothers with their homework, and also lend them my smartphone if they require it for research, which they use Chrome and mostly ChatGPT.

A selfie behind my friends family photo album when I visit him (Joseph)

When I reduced my screen time from constant 12 hours to 8 hours, I could balance doing things without rushing some activities just to meet my schedule for the day. And at that time my friends couldn't visit me unless I was the one visiting because whenever they came I would tell them that I was busy, but that has stopped, I can now sleep well and healthy.

It's sometimes so funny how smartphones can sometimes start to control our lives when we don't have a particular purpose for using it, others make use of their phones to play games continuously because they don't know what to do, while most people get caught up in social media making them addicted to phones, I often prioritize things that would be helpful to me financially and emotionally.

05 What advice would you give to others to avoid excessive screen time and reduce mobile phone use?

Here is my advice to others to maintain a good screen time that can work for you based on your schedule.

  • Make sure that you commit to someone, it could be friends, family, or workmates, but make sure you do this because it is going to help you stay emotionally stable.

  • Find a reason for your phone's existence, if you don't know why and what you use your phone for you can't balance your screen time with real-life activities.

  • Ensure that you always do what is necessary with your phone, prevent excessive gaming and social media scrolling by knowing your goals and tracking them, and placing them first.

Gracias amigo.

I like your writing bro. Smartphone phones are really important in our everyday life. But its funny how smartphones smaller in size can start to control our lives when we don't even have a particular purpose while using it. The E football gaming app is something I can't imagine myself without. But nevertheless we must indulge ourselves on different physical activities to fight away the urge of excessive screen time. Best luck in advance bro.🤝
