SCS32-W3 || Real Life Problem Solving Challenge: Time Management
Hello Teaching Team |

Hello My Steemain Friends ,
Today I am writing about an interesting Steemit Engagement Challenge S32- W3: which is all time my favourite topic ""Real Life Problem Solving Challenge: Time Management" this amazing challenge organised by @ahsansharif.
How do you organize your daily schedule? |
|---|
We women face the pressure of multitasking, and to complete all these tasks, effective time management is essential. After all, everyone—from children to my husband—relies on me for everything around the house, whether big or small. I rely on the clock to organize my daily routine because everyone has a fixed schedule—going to the shop, school, or college—so everything runs according to the time. I prioritize essential tasks first, such as preparing lunchboxes, filling water bottles, and laying out clothes; I handle other chores after everyone has left so that no one is inconvenienced. Planning ahead saves a lot of time and keeps stress at bay.
Along with managing the household, I also have to look after our shop and visit it regularly. To manage this, I note down the menu for the day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—in my notebook the night before. I also list any pending tasks or repairs that need attention. This approach makes things much easier; the next day, I can simply get to work without wasting time trying to figure out what needs to be done. Regarding the children's tiffins, my son leaves for school at 7:00 AM, so I usually pack sabzi (vegetable dish) and parathas for him.
I try to prepare time-consuming vegetables—like okra (bhindi), which takes a long time to chop—the night before. I chop them and store them in the fridge, so in the morning, I only have to sauté them, which saves a lot of time. I also manage water-related chores in the morning; for instance, I fill the washing machine with water beforehand so that I can quickly load the clothes without having to wait.
What is the most important activity in your day that takes up the most of your time and is also essential? With original images. |
|---|
The most important part of my day involves fulfilling domestic responsibilities, which range from household chores, the children's studies, and meals to managing the shop. Sometimes, I even have to visit the shop twice a day. Most of my time is spent at the shop—specifically from 11:30 AM until around 3:00 or 4:00 PM.
The time I could otherwise use for extra household tasks or other activities is consumed by the shop, while the rest goes into managing the home. Balancing everything so that all tasks are completed smoothly—including the online work I do, like writing posts—is my biggest challenge.

My time is primarily divided between two places: the shop and the kitchen. My day revolves around preparing breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks. I manage to get everything done on time by organizing these tasks systematically; I note some things down in a diary, while others run through my mind—planning which task follows the next in a back-to-back sequence. That is how I manage my time.
What is the technique that saves you time? |
|---|
As for my technique—we all know exactly how long household chores take. I organize my work so that I can multitask; once I start a task, I try to wrap up two or three others alongside it. For instance, since we have machines for most chores these days, I’ll start the washing machine while I’m cooking or filling water in the morning. This way, breakfast gets ready while the clothes are being washed.
I handle two tasks simultaneously. Amidst this, smaller chores—like making tea or filling the children's water bottles—also keep happening. If I need to wash dishes, I plan it so I can also prep vegetables for the meal while in the kitchen, ensuring not a moment of my time is wasted. For instance, I enjoy listening to music; so, while I go about my chores, I play music—this way, I can indulge in my hobby alongside my work. Also, if I need to talk to someone on the phone, I use headphones so my hands remain free to continue working while I chat.
Have you ever struggled with poor time management? How have you improved it? |
|---|
Absolutely; when unexpected extra responsibilities arise, our routine changes, and that disruption often throws time management off balance. I never used to go to the shop before, but suddenly, due to a division of the household, I had to start going there. At that time, my domestic routine was completely disrupted because my children were quite young. Managing their needs—getting them ready, taking them along to the shop, and returning—meant their studies were also being affected by the constant commuting. Everything was in disarray, and I couldn't compromise on my children's education.
Gradually, I began to structure my routine; realizing that going to the shop was now unavoidable, I had to organize my schedule. I started by prioritizing essential tasks. I used to constantly worry about the list of chores I needed to finish before rushing off to the shop.
I realized I could only handle the remaining tasks in the evening, so I stopped stressing over trying to complete everything at once—doing so meant neither the urgent tasks nor the others would get done properly. Everything would just become chaotic. Instead, I began scheduling my essential tasks based on the time available—assessing exactly what I could accomplish within a specific timeframe—and I still work that way today. Prioritizing essential tasks alongside the shop work became the most important thing.Household chores never really end.
What advice would you give to others to manage their time better? |
|---|
The best approach to time management is to work according to a schedule. Since we know how much time specific tasks require, we should allocate time for them accordingly and make use of appliances. If we are short on time but all the tasks are essential, using appliances allows us to complete all our household chores while also saving time.
