Hello Steemians, today I joined you all as I reviewed the Model Primary and Secondary Schools, which are situated at the 245 Recce Battalion AFI Barracks. I had a lot of fun reviewing this place because of the good facilities they have.

➤Where is it located? A brief history of the Education Zone, Founder, Established period?

The Model Primary and Secondary School is located in the 245 Recce Battalion AFI Barracks, Cross River State, Nigeria. It is a school that was just founded some years back in 2017 by "COL SS Diwa". The Model primary and secondary school was created because the children of the soldiers in the barracks could only access good quality education in schools outside the barracks, this made the commanding officer start the project in 2016 and the school, was commissioned in 2017.

When the school was founded a lot of parents withdrew their kids from schools outside the barracks so they could attend the school and easily come home without buses, it was also helpful as the money for bus fees would no longer be paid, and could be used for other needs. The establishment of the school was a great deal because the "Army day secondary school" in the barracks was not equipped with good teacher facilities. The school helped parents feel good about their children's academic activities.

➤What are the facilities like there? For example, Classroom Facilities, Electricity, Security, Playground etc. (With Picture +Videos +Description)

I must say the school environment looks extremely good, the palm trees inside the school beautify the place everywhere. During class there's a well-organized lockers for students to make use of in learning, they make use of a whiteboard marker in teaching students. What I also like about the school is that there's a ceiling fan in all the classes allowing the students to stay in a well-ventilated environment.

You will see in my photo that there is a you will see that there are grasses around the surrounding of the school making it look colorful and spectacular. The school also provides students playing facilities like slides, swings, and a merry-go-round. Although the swings got splotchy for sometime know and they're working towards fixing it for the students. Model school also provides students with tap water which they can use for drinking.

The school is powered by the daily generator, which powers the barracks headquarters, making it also have electricity, whenever there is no light from the headquarters they is are solar panels that generate electricity for the entire school, I can confidently say that the school is not lacking in the aspect of electricity. The school is highly secure because students cannot leave the school without the permission of their headteacher/class teachers, the school is also guarded by soldiers from 6:00 p.m. Every day, ever since a facility in the school was stolen.

➤Discuss in detail the environmental situation of the Education Zone.

First of all the school has a good-looking and Large land mass that supports minor recreational activities for students, the buildings of the school are well decorated, when you arrive at the area you will definitely discover that it's a school environment. The school also has grasses which are looking good and well kept. There's also a fence around the school showing that it's based on learning and nothing else. What I see fitting is that there are blocks of cement down the secondary section which can injure students if not careful while playing.

The school also has a waste basket where students put their used papers and anything causing the environment to look dirty, I must also say that the school premise clean and well organized, but there are also pot holes which can get students injured as they play, and the right-hand side of the school also has gallops making the environment not safe for running or anything that requires momentum.

➤Based on your exploring experience, please suggest what steps can be taken to further improve their opportunities.

For the model school to move to the next level I suggest that the classes that I have been left unused should be converted into a place where children can read their books, this is because my brother who is attending the school, said that you cannot read in the school library, you will have to go home and read because the library is filled up with books. I suggest that the blocks that are standing around the school be removed so that students can not get hurt while playing.
