The Diary Game: Monday June 8, 2026 - Drums, God's Word & Impact

Good day everyone here on steemit and welcome to another diary session with @kingfavourite77. I suppose post this yesterday Sunday, but church duty + phone battery delay me 😂 Better late than never.

Yesterday was Sunday and honestly, my spirit feels refreshed. I woke up at 6am without an alarm. No factory today, but church duty dey wait. I took my bath, wore my black shirt with black trousers, and packed my drumsticks. Sundays are special to me because after a stressful week at the bottle water factory, church is where I reset my mind.

I got to church by 7:30am. As a drummer, I must come early to set up the drum set and tune it. We had two services on sunday, so I played for both. Before the first service started, I just whispered a short prayer: “God, use my hands”. The service began 8am. Pastor preached from Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”. That word hit me hard because this week at work has been tiring. When he said “very present help”, I closed my eyes and hit the snare softly. For a moment, tears wanted to drop.

During praise and worship, we sang “Way Maker” and “Jehovah Jireh”. My hands were moving but my heart was in worship. People were lifting their hands, some were crying. That was when it hit me , drums are not just about rhythm. It’s a tool to help people enter God’s presence. After service, one sister told me, “Brother, your drumming helped me forget my problems for a while”. That statement touched me deeply.

Second service was at 11am. Pastor talked about “Impact”. He said even small service like playing drums can change someone’s life. It reminded me of Uncle Monday I saw sleeping at the factory on Friday. I prayed that God will use me to bless him too.

After church I went home, ate jollof rice, and rested. In the evening I read John 15:5 and reflected. Sunday taught me that factory work pays my bills, but serving God feeds my soul. Drums + God’s word = perfect Sunday.
