SLC31-W1: Shop & Share Challenge - Visit a Small Local Shop
Hello dear friends,
How are you all? I hope you are well. I am also fine by the grace of Allah. Today, I visited a grocery store located in Rasulpur, near Fatullah Police Station, Narayanganj District. It takes 5 minutes from my house to go to the store. I buy my daily grocery items from this store. The name of the store is Khadija Store. Today, I will visit the store and set a pin on the steem-atlas map.
The Rasulpur area of Fatullah is a very good area. The area is mainly known as a labor area, there are many industrial establishments here. Since the industrial establishments are nearby, they live in this area. I myself work in a rod manufacturing industrial establishment and live in this area and buy my necessary items from Khadija Store.
Khadija Store is 180x90 square feet. When you enter the store, you can see that all kinds of items required for the family are here. Starting from rice, pulses, flour, various spices, turmeric, pepper, various oils. Electric bulbs. Toilet cleaner and many other items.

The owner of Khadija Store, Mr. Harun Molla, has been doing business here for a long time. He tries to sell every item in the store for cash, but since it is a labor-intensive area, it is not possible. Most customers receive products from the store in bulk and pay the grocery store with their salaries from industrial establishments.
The environment of Khadija Store is not very clean, and the items in the store are not very organized. The main reason for this is that Harun Molla runs the store himself; there is no one to help him, besides, there are customers in the store almost all day, so he does not always have time to organize the store's products.

Then he always tries to keep the store organized. Each shelf of the store is full of products, and many products are also hanging. Again, many products are still in bags, which have not been able to be taken out and organized.

Khadija Store is open for customers every day from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. During this long period, the shop is closed from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During this time, Harun Molla takes a bath, eats, and rests.
Although the shop is of ordinary quality, there is a lot of business every day. Every product in the shop is of good quality and is purchased from a reputable company. In addition, the expiration date of the product is checked carefully before it is picked up in the shop. The locals know the humanity of the shopkeeper. The locals also come to this shop to buy other quality products.
A short video of the shop
All the products in the shop are sold for cash. However, if the product bill is high or if someone wants to pay the monthly bill through the online payment system, there is a special arrangement for them. The shop has two CCTV cameras so that if any kind of unwanted incident is encountered, a solution can be found.
Now I will present the names and prices of some items available at Khadija Store.

I often buy my necessary products from Khadija Store. There are several reasons for selecting this store. Among them, I am mentioning some of the reasons-
The store is a little far from my house. So whenever I need any product, I can collect it in a very short time.

Although the decoration of the shop is of ordinary quality, each product in the shop is checked and purchased. The shopkeeper picks up his products after being sure about the quality of the products. I know that if I buy products from this shop, there is no possibility of adulteration. That is why I selected the shop to buy sensitive products like food products.

I have known the shopkeeper Harun Molla for a long time, and we have a very good relationship. There are many times when I am unable to buy in person. Then, if I tell him over the phone, he sends it. This is a great convenience for me, so I selected the shop.
I sometimes have to buy products on credit, since there is a facility to buy products in credit, I can buy products without any worries.
For all these reasons, I selected the shop to buy the products I need.
The price of the item you purchased from the shop |
|---|
I don't buy many products at once. Since the shop is located near me, I buy the product when I need it. Today, for example, I came to buy roast spices and coconut oil. Here, the price of each item is fixed. There is no bargaining over the price of any product. So, I also buy the necessary products without haggling over the price.

Your shopping experience. |

This shop is my favorite among all the grocery stores in my neighborhood. I get all my necessary items in the shop. Here, the price of any product is not overcharged, or no spoiled product is kept. The excellent behavior of the shopkeeper impresses me; I feel comfortable buying products from here. Overall, I count the shop as positive.

What do you think the shop or store owner needs to do to expand his or her business and tell us if the business is lagging in patronage. |
|---|
As far as I know, the shop is doing good business, it has no shortage of customers. Still, everyone wants to create a better environment to improve. Accordingly, I would like to give some suggestions for improving the business or expanding the business. They are-
The shop should be decorated and made more beautiful. This will attract more customers to the shop.
The products in the shop should be arranged more beautifully; if necessary, the shelves should be changed, and attractive shelves should be installed. This will attract more customers to the shop.
| Ghee and other products | ![]() |
| Electric bulb | ![]() |
| Milk pack | ![]() |
More CCTV cameras should be installed in the shop so that it is easier to resolve any unwanted incidents.
Online payment facilities should be added to the shop because in the modern era, most people prefer to use online payment systems rather than cash.
If my boss takes several steps like this, he will be able to easily expand his business more quickly.

Review/Grading
Review:
Khadija Store, is a nice place for shopping and I recommend your efforts for shopping and interacting with the seller. I think one of the problems with local businesses is the proper arrangement of items on a shelf, which most small business owners usually neglect thinking it's only useful in a supermarket or shopping mall.
I think the reason is that most local stores, sellers are the ones that pick up whatever the buyer requested and offer it to the buyer unlike in a supermarket where you will be the one doing the picking/selection.
