Yesterday, I was angry at my wife and decided to do “silent treatment husband association doings.” I refused to talk to her for some time to teach her small lesson. Truth be told, I can be a big baby sometimes.
So we were preparing to go for vigil last night when she suddenly remembered that she had washed clothes earlier and they were still hanging outside at the backyard. She gently begged me to give her few minutes to bring them inside.
But since I was still forming “Mr Angry Man,” I just looked at her somehow and kicked the car NOLLYWOOD style and told her to get in.
She didn’t say anything. She quietly entered the car and we drove to church.
On our way, my mind started praying serious prayer points:
“Lord, let this rain not fall tonight.”
Because deep down, I knew that if rain touched those clothes, this woman would laugh at me till next year.
People of God, immediately we entered church compound, come and see heavy wind. The anger that the wind blew with just made it very obvious to me that even God was not pleased with what I was doing.
I was using one eye to watch the sky and the other eye to monitor my wife.
At that point, the angry rains couldn’t wait anymore. Showers of blessings that I didn’t need at that point in time.
That was when my wife calmly looked at me and said:
“Babes, those clothes outside were actually your clothes. I didn’t wash any of mine.”
I was the one who wanted to teach someone a lesson but I was the one who ended up learning the hard way.
