Saviano’s (Twin) Brother

This is the English version of the post Il fratello (gemello) di Saviano, originally published in Italian in the ITALY community.
For some time now, the famous journalist and writer Roberto Saviano, widely regarded as Italy’s foremost expert on mafias and criminal organizations (he is the author of the worldwide bestseller Gomorrah, which also inspired a successful TV series), has discovered that he has a twin.
In keeping with what people usually say about twins, Saviano’s ‘brother’ resembles him not only physically, but also in the passion he pours into his investigations and in the vehemence with which he denounces the mafia systems that still plague our country today.
Two true heroes of free information, one might say — although there is a curious detail about their story. Roberto, who became famous after exposing the dynamics of the Camorra clans and was forced into exile abroad, is one of the most respected journalists and writers in the world, and his opinion is taken very seriously even on matters outside organized crime.
His brother, on the other hand, seems to be unknown to most. His detailed accusations — complete with names and surnames — end up being ignored almost entirely, despite touching on extremely serious issues capable of damaging entire sectors of our country.
In short, in the collective imagination, one is a kind of respected oracle, while the other is seen as a poor, delusional nobody. But the most curious part of the story, in the most classic of plot twists, is something else: in reality, Roberto and his brother are the same person.
Or rather, there is no twin brother — there are simply two versions of the same writer: one admired and celebrated for decades, the other, much more recent, ignored and on the verge of being discredited. The reason? He touched the only high‑voltage cable considered untouchable in Italy. The President of the Republic? The Pope? Civil rights? No — Inter.
Every time Saviano talks about the “Inter system,” hinting at its ties to organized crime, or directly mentions figures from the club — such as president Beppe Marotta — his extremely serious statements are mostly ignored. And on the rare occasions when they weren’t, such as when he said “Italian football will never have a fair league as long as Marotta is around,” lawsuits were announced but never actually pursued.
The latest example is striking: during an open Q&A session on Instagram, Saviano responded to a follower about the recent investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office that is shaking the refereeing world. These were his words:
“Based on the information that has emerged so far, Inter would come out devastated. Editorial rumors claim that everything possible was attempted to stop the investigation. It seems they didn’t succeed — we’ll see and verify in the coming weeks. Until Milanese football undergoes real trials, we will not have a healthy league. But the question is: can football, the most corrupt of worlds, ever truly be healthy?”
These are extremely serious statements — potentially devastating for the entire football world — yet they were ignored by almost all newspapers, with the sole exception of the ‘valiant’ Tuttosport. Omertà? Fear? Shared responsibility? What is really behind this absurd silence from the press?
Why don’t Inter’s executives take these accusations — and the previous ones — to court? A frightening protective smokescreen rises every time the Milanese club is involved in any kind of scandal. A sprawling system that has long gone beyond the sporting sphere, involving politics, institutions, and organized crime.
Inter and its network of wrongdoing seem to be a golden goose for many. If prosecutor Ascione manages to dismantle this octopus on his own, he will likely be remembered as one of the brightest examples of anti‑mafia heroes.

We're still optimistic to see the healthy state of the football as one of the world most popular and corrupt-free sporting area ; coming back into its former good shape i.e fair-play without tug and twist that which would make the sport more interesting and investment terget.
from different sects. Have they know of it
Unfortunately, I believe the truth is quite the opposite: football is the sport where the most money changes hands, and therefore one of the most corrupt. The hope is that we can clean it up quickly.
That may be the way forward; l do hope to see the clean-up soon!
My pleasure.
