The diary game: [05/06/2026] A visit to my secondary school.
Hello ladies and gentlemen, Good day, and happy weekend Just a few minutes to Monday š Donāt get too comfortable Monday is around the corner.
So, today I was woken up by a horrible nightmare. Hmm, it was really terrible. Thank God it was just a dream. I donāt want to share it it was bad.
I woke up with a sad face and a bitter mouth. Malaria can mess with your head and soul. I canāt believe Iāve lost my sense of taste again š„²
So I quickly brushed my teeth and drank a sachet of water to cool my stomach and prepare it for food š After that, I had my breakfast.
Iāve been planning to visit my junior secondary school to see my favorite teacher. I lost her number a long time ago, but someone told me sheās still at the school. So I decided Iād go today and try to find her.
When I got there, they were having morning assembly, so I had to wait for them to finish.
After a while, the assembly was over and I started looking for her.
It didnāt take long before I found her. She was very happy to see me. She looked older itās been a long time but still beautiful. She hugged me tightly and asked how I was. I told her Iām fine. She said, āYouāre grown now, lol, with a lot of beards.ā I couldnāt stop laughing, but I was happy that we reunited after years of lost contact.
She was my best teacher back then. She really did a lot for me, always telling me to focus on my future and stay away from crime. I gladly listened.
It was a beautiful moment. We exchanged contacts again.
She asked if I wanted some kunu. I said no Iām not really a fan of kunu.
For context, kunu is a drink made from millet and tiger nut. I love tiger nuts, but Iām not a fan of millet, so I declined.
We talked about family, school, and work. After a long chat, I was about to leave and I tipped her some small cash for airtime. She was very excited, and I was proud I could.
The school looked different. A lot of renovations have been made, and many familiar staff have been transferred. Only a few familiar faces remain.
After that, I went to the market to get corn, millet, and soya beans for our dog food.
We normally combine:
- Corn
- Millet
- Soya beans
- Rice
- Groundnut
- Fish bone
- Crayfish
We blend it all and use it to feed our dogs. Itās rich in protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, etc., and very good for them.
So I was in the market trying to gather everything for the mixture.
Everything is now very expensive. Prices have gone up by 60% compared to before.
I was really upset because my budget wasnāt working out due to the price hike. I had to spend more to get the same quantity, or even less.
It was just annoying. I couldnāt believe how much has changed in just a few months. Honestly, Nigeria is becoming unbearable. I wonder how the poor survive. I just pray everyone gets it right, because this is becoming a constant phenomenon.
Anyway, I got all I needed and headed home. When I arrived, I dropped the items inside to be used tomorrow.
My sister closed from school early today because itās Friday, and Fridays are always quick. She said she had an order for jollof rice, plantain, and chicken.
So I assisted her. It was a huge job because the client wanted 30 plates.
We got to work, and after hours, we were done and everything was packed for delivery.
Lol, I took some for myself. I ate until I was full. I love jollof rice and plantain, so I didnāt even ask for permission I just filled my stomach š I deserve it. I worked for it, so why not?
She packaged the food and headed out for delivery, and I stayed home.
I went in and rested for a while before my mom and sister came back.
We sat in the parlor talking about a few things.
My sister said her client loved the food. Lol, sheās a good cook, so Iām not surprised, but I was proud.
I always encourage young girls to do something to earn, as long as itās morally acceptable. Why not? Just get busy and make some cash.
I couldnāt eat again I was full from the rice.
So I just waited for a while, and now Iām in bed thinking about my day and sharing it with you all.
Iām grateful to God for His mercy and kindness today.
And I also appreciate all of you who wished me a quick recovery yesterday. Thank you.
Remember, every day above the ground level is a good day.
Drink enough water and get enough rest.
