Fascinating facts - A picture on moon

Space travel 9s something many of us fantasise on. And those who get a chance to do it are the lucky ones. It does not mean they get to travel by luck. It's not a lottery system. They work tremendously hard to be able to travel. But in 8 billion people there are many who work tremendously hard and yet not everyone gets such opportunities. So those who travel and get to see our home mother Earth from the outside are surely the lucky ones.

In 1972 during the Apollo mission to the moon astronaut Charles Duke left a picture of his family on the moon. Such an incredible moment that must have been and the sweetest moment in human history. He wanted his kids to feel excited about his journey and wanted to take a part of them with him to the moon. He wrapped the picture in plastic and left it face up on their landing site.

The picture must be still there most probably since there is no atmosphere on moon so it cannot get blown away or get eroded. Yes, but it may have faded out completely because of extreme temperature and solar radiation. It's been in plastic so no one can precisely say what must have happened to the picture. After this no astronaut has landed on moon.

Yes, a family photo from Earth is stoll there on Moon. Probably some day we will land there again and smile back at history.
