My story is just beginning

in #kendrahill2 days ago

In the XRP community, I’m known as an insider with deep knowledge of XRP and XLM. I was first discovered through my blog 8 years ago, where I shared insider knowledge, market research, and more.

Becoming Kendra Hill

The XRP community knows me as Kendra Hill, the 1 million XRP girl. What most of you don't know is that Hill is not actually my last name. I lost a close friend a long time ago, and her last name was Hill. When I decided not to use my own last name publicly, I chose to use hers instead. In many ways, that choice reflects how I move through the world: intentionally, thoughtfully, and with meaning attached to everything I do.

Growing up in a Zionist family

Another fun fact that not many people know about me is that I am half Japanese and half Jewish. My mom, who is Japanese, met my dad while he was visiting Japan. He asked her to move to the US to be with him, and she did. I was born a year later.

I didn't grow up around my mom’s side of the family, and have not met many of them. I would like to go to Japan someday. Most of my time was spent around my dad’s side of the family, although I was never really close with them.

My dad was born in Israel, and his side of the family is extremely pro-Zionist. Growing up in that environment as someone who felt like an outsider was uncomfortable. I was often treated poorly and made fun of for being half Japanese. And that wasn't even the worst of it.

I no longer speak to my family. I've fully separated myself. It has been over a year since I last spoke to my mom, and I will never go back.

Right now, I live on my own in Canada. I live a minimalist lifestyle. I barely leave home. It won't always be this way, and for the time being I am fine with how things are.

Becoming the 1 million XRP girl

Within the XRP community, many people know me as “the 1 million XRP girl.”

In 2016, I received 1,000,000 XRP as a birthday gift. At the time it wasn't worth much, maybe $10,000 or less. And I didn't know what XRP was. It seemed like a strange gift and certainly not one I wanted. Little did I know, this was the best gift I could have ever asked for.

My grandpa, a former investment banker and early adopter of Bitcoin, played a massive role in helping me see the value of blockchain technology. He was always good at explaining complex things in an easy to understand way. Having gotten into Bitcoin, XRP, and XLM at the very beginning, he witnessed the early days of crypto. In fact, before my family started investing in XRP, my grandpa received some XRP directly from Ripple. Back then Ripple allowed Bitcoin holders to claim some XRP for free to grow the community.

When I was given XRP for my birthday, 750,000 XRP was locked in escrow until 2030, leaving me with 250,000 XRP that was unlocked in my XRP account. While this frustrated me at times, I now view it as a blessing.

Discovering that people know my name

I became aware of my growing popularity when I was on Youtube searching for XRP videos and came across a live stream where a Youtuber was talking about my blog. I heard my name mentioned almost immediately after clicking onto the live stream. I said hello in the chat and received a warm response. Then I was asked to create a Telegram group to answer questions, and over 100 people joined. After talking with them for a few hours, I decided to delete the group and step away. I wasn't planning to be so public and didn't feel ready for that kind of attention.

Before I started my blog

Before starting my blog in July 2018, I was already active in the crypto space. I was completely private and never talked to anyone unless I had a question to ask. No one knew my name. I did not plan to be public at all.

I first learned about Ripple/XRP and Stellar/XLM through my family, and then I did my own research to explore and learn about the rest of the crypto market. What interested me most was the technology. Back then, I believed blockchain could be used to create a better world. I am not as certain of that today. While the technology itself is clearly useful, and is said to be unstoppable, there are hidden variables in this world that will likely interfere.

At that time, I didn't know much about Zionism or power structures the way I do now. My views today are shaped by what I experienced within my own family.

Why I started my blog

When I started this blog, my intent was to share my knowledge and educate people on the value of XRP/XLM. I never imagined so many people would read it. I began to gain popularity in 2019 when some XRP Youtubers started sharing and referencing my blog posts. Although I was surprised that so many people cared, I have come to accept that I’m on this path for a reason. I have a lot to offer the world, along with big goals that I cannot accomplish alone. I feel like I'm on the right path, exactly where I’m meant to be.

Why I deleted old blog posts

To put it simply, I was trying to distance myself from the XRP community after being attacked/bullied. There were people who clearly did not want me around and they made an effort to turn the XRP community against me by spreading rumors and pushing narratives. It felt like people were quick to turn against me and it became too much so I deleted blog posts and separated myself from the XRP community.

Finding my own path

When I separated from my family, I was forced to sell all my available crypto to cover living expenses. Being on my own hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons along the way to prepare me for the future. I consider it a learning experience and have no regrets. I know in my heart that I'm on the right path.
