What is the definition of security according to your perspective?

Security to my understanding means the protection of lives and properties. Security is everyone's business and it is not something that should be left to the government or security agencies instead it is something that when a citizen notices strange movement or something the citizen should report such strange movement to the security agencies.

Security is all about making the right move to protect myself, friends, loved ones, my surroundings, properties etc from the hands of criminals, hoodlums, thieves, etc.

In addition to prioritising technical security measures, it is essential for us also to address the aspect of social security. I welcome your insights on this matter.

Yes to prioritise technical security measures, it is essential for us also to address the aspect of social security. This is because security is everyone's business and having CCTV cameras or technical security can't stop a Hardened criminal from coming to our house but what can stop or reduce insecurity is proper education, and providing for the citizens.

When people in a society are gainfully employed and doing something meaningful with their lives they wouldn't think about going out to rob someone of his or her property, but it is only when there is a lack of employment, education, and other forms of bad behaviour that can lead to insecurity which even prioritising security measures can't stop.

• Rule of law where laws apply equally to all

• Human Rights and Equality where everyone's life matters, especially the marginalised

• Democratic governance and accountability which ensure citizens' participation in governance.
