The May contest #2 by sduttaskitchen: Society requires Security!
What is the definition of security according to your perspective? |
|---|
In my own perspective security is a condition in which people are free from fear, harm or danger. Any condition that prevents disruption to the well-being of individuals, communities or institutions, so that they can live, work and move about freely without fear.
A person is secure not only when they're safe from violence, but also when they have confidence that their rights, basic needs, source of income, privacy and future are protected.
It includes the protection of human life, rights, property, devices like phones and laptops. Truly, everyone wants to be secure in all aspects of life.
In addition to prioritising technical security measures, it is essential for us also to address the aspect of social security. I welcome your insights on this matter |
|---|
Technical security is the use machine integrated software or AI to block malwares and other malicious programs or access that may harm the privacy of phones, laptops and other technology devices. This include firewalls passwords, encryptions, antivirus and other means of using this securities. These makes life much more secure than it would be if they were not there.
Lets have insights on what social security is all about: It is the human side of security. This involves safety measures by people to protect themselves from being scammed. Scammers often present themselves as people wanting to help out but technically trick individuals into leaking ones privacy; sometimes data of a group of individuals are being leaked, either accidentally or intentionally. And people still fall victim despite the widespread knowledge about scammers.
Insights on how to handle risk that comes from humans, not machines:
Training: making awareness to people about common scammer tricks will help reduce the risk of clicking a bad link, how to handle data properly to avoid sending vital information to the wrong person. It also encourages reporting suspicious activity.
Security policies: clear instructions on what to do makes it comfortable to report mistakes and take responsibility for security without fear of blame.
In all said, technical security blocks malwares and others malicious programs but social security helps avoid scammers with whatever tricks they bring.
To establish a civilised society, what are the key principles that should be implemented? |
|---|
Prevention measures should be taken. Organization that makes use of modern technology like phones and laptops should train their employees to detect malicious programs and human threats to prevent it before they happen.
Identity verification should be involved too. Access to confidential data should need two ways verification, that is by two persons, to avoid illegal access to sensitive information by scammers. This may be applied when money transactions and transfer of sensitive data is involve.
