The Gathering

At night time. All the candles were lit up. The round table in the middle with the biggest candle of all and each individual chair around that table are all facing the big candle. There was a sound of horses approaching. The ground was shaking and all candle lights were shaking, except for the ones on the walls. Which are reserved for their greatest warriors of that time.

Everyone has taken their seat at the table. They all waited for the arrival of the king. As soon as he approached, they stood up and waited for him to set down. It was unexpected of him to go and turn off the candle lights on the walls. He finished and came back. The moment that they all have been waiting for. They were shocked that he was talking about the light traveling from a point to another. It was not making sense. When he just finished briefing. He said, it is probably irrelevant to most or all of you. But, what I wanted to talk about is the decision that we need to take regarding our defenses. We need to improve them and this needs to happen in a speed of light. A necessary action that needs to be taken quickly. Soon, they realized that he was just trying to grab their attention before the start.
