Not everything that breaks needs fixing
At one point in my life...
I believed I had to fix everything.
If I failed at something,
I had to make up for it immediately.
If I missed an opportunity,
I had to find a replacement quickly.
If my spirit was broken by a situation or disappointment,
I had to bounce back strong as if nothing had happened.
I treated life like a constant race,
as if pausing to grieve, reflect, or catch my breath was a sign of weakness.
But with time... I discovered that some things don't need fixing.
They need understanding.
Sometimes your heart doesn't break to stay broken,
but to tell you that there's something you've been ignoring.
Sometimes you don't fail because you're incapable,
but because there's a lesson you haven't learned yet.
Sometimes doors don't close in your face as punishment,
but because the path beyond them wasn't meant for you in the first place.
The problem is that when we're hurting,
we get so preoccupied with the question:
"How do I get rid of this feeling?"
While the more important question is:
"What is this feeling trying to teach me?" Because life doesn't always speak to us in words.
Sometimes it speaks to us through experiences.
Through delays.
Through losses.
Through disappointments.
And through days that don't go our way.
Every experience carries a message.
But we're often too preoccupied with the pain,
So we forget to listen.
I remember days I used to see as terrible.
I wished they'd never happened.
But when I looked back on them years later... I realized they were some of the most transformative periods in my life.
They made me more mature.
They taught me how to choose.
They helped me understand myself better.
And without them...
I'd still be the same person I was.
That's why I'm no longer afraid of small setbacks like I used to be.
I don't like them, of course...
But I no longer see them as the end of the road.
Because I've learned that some cracks
let light in.
And that some losses
save us from greater losses.
And that some endings
aren't the end of something beautiful... but the beginning of something more suitable for us.
So if you're going through a tough time right now... don't rush to judge it.
Don't say it's all lost.
And don't assume this moment will last forever.
Give yourself time.
Learn what you can.
And keep going.
Life is full of things whose wisdom we only understand after we've moved on.
And perhaps... the thing you consider a setback in your life today,
you will look back on one day... and be grateful for.
