Funny Morning

In the very early morning, an old man rushed into his grandsons room and tore his blanket off with a worried look on his face.

Rafi, wake up.

The boy opened his eyes and at once saw the fear on his grandfathers face.

Whats the matter, Grandpa?

Grandpa: My teeth are gone.

Rafi woke up right away. He knew his grandfather had a habit before going to sleep. Every night, the old man used to take off his dentures, wash both top and bottom, say a prayer for the dentist who made them and put them in the plastic box which his daughter in law bought for him.

But that morning, the box near the sink was empty.

The grandfather had already been to the basement where it was very cold, done exercises in the pull up bar, gone up and down the stairs many times and then come back to wash his face. Only after that, he understood that his dentures were gone.

Where can they be, he kept asking and getting more and more worried.

Rafi and his grandfather started looking all around. They looked under the bathroom shelf, in the sink, on the floor and even under the bed.

Rafi thought maybe grandma threw them in the bin. So they also looked in the bin, but there was nothing. The old man went down again to the basement and started looking in the shower room. But it did not help, his face became even darker with so much stress.

He kept asking, where did my teeth go o?

At his grandfathers request, Rafi called his grandmother. She worked in a shop and was not allowed to use the phone during her working hours, but this time she answered.

She asked, did you find them?

Rafi said no Granny.

Granny: Did you look everywhere?

Everywhere, Granny.

Granny was getting worried, then she said, look inside your grandfathers mouth.

Rafi stopped for a moment and was like, wait a minute, and rushed to his grandfather.

He said, open your mouth.

The old man opened it.

And Rafi started laughing right away. He laughed so loud and he just could not stop. The grandfather also looked surprised, but soon also started laughing too.

It was the moment when everything became clear for them. During the night, he had forgotten to take his teeth off. After watching cartoons and eating sunflower seeds at night, he fell asleep with his dentures in. He loved sunflower seeds. In the evening, he ate them one by one with so much joy, like a young boy having a treat. For him, it was almost like listening to music.

He never came in front of grandma without his teeth out. And that was the funny morning they had before breakfast.
