Wooden Churches Of The Russian North
Greetings, friends
I traveled for 5 days in the Russian North. That's what the Arkhangelsk region is called. Last Thursday, I drove 1,200 km to my son's house, and on Friday, we went to the southern shore of the White Sea. It took us 6 hours to get there on a 250 km dirt road, but it took us 5 hours to get back. During the day, we met a lot of foxes, and on the way back in the dark, we met hares on the road.
By the way, geography experts should understand this joke: "The southern coast of the White Sea and the Northern coast of the Black Sea". What's the point? You ask me, and I'll tell you.
Wooden old churches. 300 years old... How have they been preserved?

My son kept waiting for a bear to appear on the road, but he was just joking. Recently, a man died in their city due to a car accident caused by a bear going out on the highway in front of the car. There is a joke that Europeans and Americans believe that bears walk through Russian cities. But there is some truth to it. His friend recently shot a bear right in their town. He was a danger to people because he came to the trash cans in the backyard of the hospital, or rather, the canteen in this hospital. It's a closed city, a military one, but I once met wolves there when I was visiting my son, and we were at the gas station refueling the car.
